Neighborhood Night Out

The City of Clinton’s Police and Fire Departments, Mayor Phil Fisher, and the Board of Aldermen/Alderwoman will be participating in Neighborhood Night Out festivities on Tuesday, October 2. Over the past few years, the annual event has grown in participation by neighborhoods and first responders.

Clinton’s Neighborhood Night Out (NNO) is an annual event designed to strengthen communities by encouraging neighborhoods to engage in stronger relationships with each other and with their local law enforcement partners.

Once again, the City of Clinton’s Communications Department is requesting information from neighborhoods and groups hosting events this year, so that elected officials and first responders may attend the events.

It is not necessary for neighborhoods wishing to participate to be organized into official Homeowners Associations. All residents of Clinton are encouraged to organize a NNO party with just a few neighbors or an entire block.

Throughout the evening, NNO parties will be attended by City administration, police and fire staff to share updates and tips on building a safer and stronger neighborhood.

Participating organizations, groups and neighborhoods are encouraged to share their plans with the City of Clinton by completing the information form on the City website at www.clintonms.org/NNO or by calling the City’s Communication Department at 601-924-5474.

“Our goal is to heighten crime-prevention awareness, build support and participation in local anti-crime programs, and most importantly, send a message that our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back,” said Clinton Police Chief Ford Hayman.

Following a brief Board of Alderman meeting at 5:30p, Mayor Fisher and the aldermen, with the support of Clinton police, will disperse throughout Clinton to visit neighborhood parties, encouraging continued partnership with the City to fight crime.
