The Hinds Community College baseball and softball teams will host the eighth annual Monster Mash fundraiser at Joe G. Moss Field on the Raymond Campus on Tuesday, October 29th at 6 p.m.
The Monster Mash is an annual fundraiser that features a co-ed softball game between the Hinds CC baseball and softball teams. The student-athletes dress up in costumes and engage in numerous activities with the community’s youth.
The event will feature character and costume introductions as well as a “Trunk-or-Treat” event beginning at 6 p.m.
Then at 6:30 p.m., the Eagles baseball team and Lady Eagles softball team will begin a co-ed slow-pitch softball game littered with Halloween personalities ready to serve up some family fun.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will go directly to the Batson Children’s Hospital.
Batson Children’s Hospital is the flagship of Children’s of Mississippi, part of the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). As Mississippi’s only children’s hospital, they care for kids from across the state, offering everything from emergency care to highly specialized heart and cancer care for kids.
Batson Children’s Hospital treats about 150,000 children each year in more than 30 specialty areas, including newborn medicine, pediatric cardiology, neurology, and surgery. It houses the state’s only pediatric intensive care unit and emergency department along with Mississippi’s only pediatric treatment programs for cancer, cystic fibrosis, sickle cell anemia, congenital heart defects, and more.
Additional donations will be accepted on behalf of the hospital as well.
