    Ms. Mississippi Contestant Holding Newk's Night to benefit Just Jump platform

    Ms Mississippi Contestant, Colby Brumfield is holding a Newk’s Night to benefit her platform, Just Jump.

    Just Jump encourages and promotes a healthy lifestyle at a young age by getting outside and participating in something as simple as jumping rope!

    All proceeds from the evening will go to purchasing jump-ropes for Ms Brumfield to take to local community centers and schools!

    Be sure to come out and support her and her efforts to promote healthy lifestyles! March 20th from 6p-9p at Newks in Clinton!

    SAVE THE DATE! MC Wellness For Life is coming to the Nature Center to offer FREE Fitness Assessments on March 21st, from 6:00-7:30pm. It is FREE to everyone! No appointment necessary. Each individual that participates in fitness testing will be emailed a testing report. We will also review the test results individually and offer suggestions for improvements to be made.     Youth Beginner Tennis

    Once again the Clinton Parks and Recreation Department and the United States Tennis Association (USTA) will be partnering to provide beginner tennis lessons for children ages 6-12 at Brighton Park.
    Lessons will take place Wednesday’s from 4:30 P.M.and Saturday’s from 11:00 A.M. to Noon. Two sessions are scheduled for March 22- April 15 and April 19-May 13.
    USTA’s “Ready to Rally” beginner tennis program provides children the opportunity to learn the game of tennis from certified tennis professionals in a fun and engaging environment.  Cost for the four week (8 lessons) session is $58.
    The sessions will consist of basic demonstration and instruction of tennis techniques, as well as game strategy and scoring.

    The Office of Continuing Education at Mississippi College is offering a course covering the basics of how to nvaigae from college to career, including document construction for resumes, cover letters and references.

    The course will also cover interviewing, professionalism and job searching techniques. The course fee is $50. Fee includes “YouScience” assessment and course material.

    The course schedule is as follows:

    CHS plans 12th annual Princess Ball fundraiser

    Clinton High School (Clinton, Mississippi) is hosting the twelfth annual Princess Ball, open to girls in grades K-3.
     
    The event is 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, March 24 in the CHS Cafeteria. The Clinton High School Jazz Band will provide live music for dancing, and princesses in attendance can have their picture made with the Snow Queen.
     
    Attendees must be accompanied by a Prince Charming (father, grandfather, brother, etc. who is high school age or older) or a Fairy Godmother (mother, grandmother, sister, etc. who is high school age or older). Only one adult can attend the ball with the princess.
     
    Tickets are $50 and proceeds benefit Students Against Destructive Decisions and also the Academic Team’s competition registrations for 2017. Tickets include a T- shirt, and professional picture packets will be available at the ball.
     
    Registration forms are due at CHS no later than March 1. Checks will not be accepted.

    Habitat for Humanity Seeking Homeowner Applicants for 2017

    Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Capital Area (HFHMCA) is a non-profit Christian organization whose purpose is to build and sell decent and affordable housing to families who need better housing.

    HFHMCA is currently accepting applications for individuals and families interested in becoming part of the Habitat home ownership program in Madison, Hinds and Rankin counties. Informational meetings have been scheduled as follows:
