    Clinton Public School District Retirees to be honored on Tuesday, May 11

    5:00 pm-7:00 pm

    On May 11, a reception will be held to celebrate Clinton Public School District faculty and staff members retiring this year.

    The event will be come-and-go beginning at 5:00pm on Tuesday, May 11in the Cafeteria at Central Office at 201 Easthaven Drive.

    Former students, community members and friends are invited to come celebrate and honor these individuals who have invested in our Clinton students and community.

    POETRY CONTEST | 1st Annual Juneteenth Heritage Festival - Vicksburg

    -Submit you original poetry via email: NO LATER THAN JUNE 11th, 2021

    -Please list your name, grade, & school

    -All original poems must be related to the history of Juneteenth

    -Your original poems will be numbered & submitted to judges without names to be fair.

    -Your original poem will be judged on creativity, originality, relativity, & grammar

    -1st Place winners from each category will receive and age appropriate Juneteenth Book, Courtesy of Lorelei Books, as well as gift certificates to local eateries and invited to read your poem during the event

    -2nd place winners will receive an Aga appropriate Juneteenth Book, courtesy of Lorelei Books

    LIVESTREAM: Municipal General Election Debate

    2:00 pm-5:00 pm

    The League of Women Voters is providing voter education once again for the Clinton community in the upcoming General Election and the Clinton Chamber of Commerce is joining us as a partner. Our goal is to help citizens make informed choices when they go to the polls on June 8 as they choose the leaders for our city. Representatives of the League and the Chamber are responsible for compiling the questions, which will address topics of concern to voters such as public safety and economic development. Randy Bell has agreed to serve as moderator.

    The debates will be live-streamed and continue to be posted on the City of Clinton Facebook page. Each debate will be available the next day on the City webpage.

    Parent & Caregiver Training Workshop

    Providence Presbyterian Church and Mount Salus Christian School are sponsoring  a Parent Training Workshop by Spectrum Behavioral Services on Thursday, May 13th 5:30-7:30pm. They will cover practical topics and provide useful tools on helping parents better understand the function of their child’s behaviors, and to help provide tools for parents to decrease negative behaviors and increase positive behaviors in children birth to 18 years old.
