Mary Madison Pevey, 2018 Distinguished Young Woman of Clinton, will soon place the DYW medallion on the 2019 Clinton winner. The Clinton Distinguished Young Woman Scholarship program will be held Saturday, February 3. Candidates participating will take the stage to compete in scholastic, interview, poise, fitness and talent before one of them is named the new Distinguished Young Woman of Clinton.
Pevey won the local honor on March 11, 2017, and then competed at the state program in Meridian on July, where she earned a scholastic preliminary award and was named a Top Ten State Finalist. Pevey received cash scholarships from the local and state levels of $2,550. She also received a scholarship from Mississippi College for being named Clinton’s DYW. She plans to attend MC in the fall of 2018 and major in pre-med biology.
The Distinguished Young Woman of Clinton program will be at the Clinton Jr. High auditorium located at 711 Lakeview Drive. Doors will open at 6:30pm, with the program beginning at 7pm. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased at the door that evening.
