Libby Callegan is CPSD’s new finance director

Longtime Clintonian and Clinton Public School District parent Libby Callegan is the district’s new director of finance.

Callegan replaces Sandy Halliwell who is retiring.

“I am very excited to join the amazing team at CPSD,” she said. “I plan to continue the strong financial management and oversight established by my predecessor and look forward to being part of the team that takes our school district into the future.”

CPSD’s finance director is responsible for management and oversight of district funds, and oversees the bookkeepers at each school, Human Resources and payroll operations.

Callegan is a Certified Public Accountant and holds an associate’s degree in accounting from Hinds Community College and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Louisiana State University.

Since 2011, she has worked as Senior Operations Auditor at Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company and from 2003-2010 as the Accounting Manager at Mississippi Baptist Health System. Prior to that she was a manager, senior auditor and staff auditor at KPMG, LLP.

Callegan is a Clinton High School graduate. She has two children in Clinton’s public schools and has been active in Parent Teacher Organizations since 2010.

“This position is critical to our district,” said Dr. Tim Martin, superintendent of schools. “Mrs. Callegan brings a wealth of experience in accounting and financial management and we are looking forward to having her on our team.”
