Dental Assistants
Whether they work in a general dentist’s office or in a more specialized area such as endodontics, dental assistants are essential to keeping processes running smoothly. Since dentists can’t do it all on their own, it’s up to these professionals to handle the logistics of caring for patients and performing basic cleaning tasks. Dental assistants don’t require a formal college education, but it’s important to note they still require basic training in how to manage an office setting and how to cater to the needs of patients. Ultrasound Technicians
As shocking as it may sound, ultrasound technician is another health care job that doesn’t require a college degree. Ultrasound techs preferably have experience working with ultrasound equipment, but they can also easily be trained in new processes. Since their responsibility is to obtain information rather than diagnose or treat potential issues, they don’t need the same training a doctor would. EMTs and Paramedics
Emergency medical responders and paramedics are some of the most important professionals in the health care business. Charged with assisting individuals in the midst of medical emergencies, these professionals need to be fast-acting and able to thrive under pressure. Additionally, as the first people on the scene of accidents, they need to be well-versed in basic medical procedures in order to treat critical patients. However, gaining this experience and training doesn’t require much more than completing various certificate programs and becoming licensed by the state you’re in.
Phlebotomists
For a doctor to acquire the information they need to properly treat an individual, the patient’s drawn blood often has to undergo tests. This means we require professionals who can not only handle this process, but also know how to properly run specific tests and gather the appropriate readings. As such, phlebotomists are necessities in various medical facilities, including hospitals, laboratories, and private practices. Fortunately, they can be certified in as few as a few months and go on to help doctors diagnose illnesses.
