Alford named GSC Freshman of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Mississippi College guard Ally Alford was announced as the Gulf South Conference (GSC) Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week today.

The Batesville native averaged 15.5 points and shot a shade over 42 percent from the field in the Lady Choctaws’ wins over MUW and Montevallo. She tied her season-high with 21 points against MUW.

Alford is currently leading the team in scoring with 11.4 points per game. She is also second on the team in three-point percentage, as she is shooting at a 34 percent clip.

Alford and the Lady Choctaws will be back in action with a matchup against defending GSC Champions Union University. Tip-off from A.E. Wood Coliseum will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
