The winning tradition of basketball at Clinton Christian Academy (CCA) continues in 2022.

The Junior Varsity squad won the District 4A Championship, finishing in first place at the district tournament.

“I could not be more proud of these young men,” said CCA Athletic Director Josh Zeitz. “They played outstanding ball when it counted, and Coach Willie Alexander did a great job bringing the team along and had them peaking at tournament time.”

Zeitz went on to add, “Not many people realize it, but our basketball teams have to be ‘Road Warriors,’ as we don’t have a campus court to play on.”

Zeitz commented on the generosity of places such as the Methodist Children’s Home and Sunnybrook Children’s Home, which enabled the team to have the opportunity to play home games and practice.

“We are deeply appreciative of these institutions, and we could not have been as successful as we were without their help,” said Zeitz.

“The JV team lost one game to a school in their MAIS classification,” said Zeitz. “The other twelve losses were to much larger and higher classification MAIS schools. These young men are to be commended for their effort and success and how well they represented CCA.”
