Burchfield named Hinds’ Raymond Teacher of the Year

Hinds Community College Business Administration instructor Nita Burchfield of Clinton was named the Teacher of the Year for 2022 by participants of the Raymond Campus Phi Theta Kappa and Honors program.

Students who nominated her said she “encourages her students to try new things, form ideas that challenge them and use collaboration to gain new perspectives.”

Burchfield is also known for using “real-life experiences that bring the real world inside the classroom.

The recognition was at the Teacher Appreciation Tea on April 14. Burchfield has been teaching at Hinds since 2013.
