Living Young plans holiday trip to Texas cities

Christmas may feel far away, but the season is right around the corner. Living Young, a program designed for senior adults and sponsored by the City of Clinton’s Therapeutic Recreation Department, is already making holiday plans.

Living Young is organizing a five-day trip to Galveston Island and Houston, Texas, set for December 9-13, 2024. Round-trip luxury motorcoach transportation, first-class accommodations, breakfast and some meals, and all sightseeing admissions will be included in the cost of the trip.

Trip-goers will have the chance to experience the rich history and culture of two of Texas’s most iconic cities. Highlights include walks along the Festival of Lights Trail in Galveston and Houston’s Enchanted Christmas Adventure; visits to iconic sites like the Ocean Star Oil Rig Museum, the Lone Star Flight Museum, and NASA’s Lyndon Johnson Space Center; tours of two historic Galveston mansions, the 1895 Moody Mansion and the 1886 Bishop’s Palace; shopping and sightseeing in Galveston’s Historic Strand District and Post Office Street; and a guided sightseeing tour of Houston.

Rates for the trip are $925 per person in a group of four to a room, $975 per person in a group of three to a room; $1,105 per person in a group of two to a room; and $1,505 per person for a single room.

A $100 deposit per person is required at the time of reservation, and full payments are due by November 1. Credit card payments can be made by contacting Trek Travel at 601-951-8338. Cash and check payments can be mailed to the Wood Activity Center, located at 111 Clinton Blvd., Clinton, MS 39056. Trip-goers should make checks payable to Trek Travel.
