Marie Hull Gallery showing dynamic collection from the Hinds CC vault

Through December 1, Hinds Community College will host the art show “Highlights from the Permanent Collection” in its Marie Hull Gallery. The show was curated by gallery director and art instructor Cynthia Groya.

Groya has been working in the vault to put the college’s private collection in order, and she says she is excited about the show. She said visitors will see important names in southern art like Wyatt Waters, Mildred Wolfe, Bill Dunlap, Bob Dunaway, Marie Hull and Ellen Langford.

“I wanted it to be dynamic. The placement of a painting is important, so I wanted their juxtapositions to be complimentary.” Groya said.

There will be a reception and gallery discussion on Thursday, November 21, from 4 until 6 p.m. Marie Hull Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m.to 3 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
