Brick Street Players plan Into the Woods performances

Brick Street Players recently held auditions for their upcoming performance of Into the Woods. More than sixty talented performers auditioned, the organization’s largest turnout to date. The cast, directed by Sam Lovorn, includes many new and returning faces to Brick Street Players.

Into the Woods sees several famous fairy tales intersect as the Baker and the Baker’s Wife endeavor to lift a witch’s curse that prevents them from having a child. The musical features the complex and memorable songs and lyrics of Stephen Sondheim.

Performances, which are presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International, will take place September 18-21 at the Entergy Theatre at the Gore Arts Complex at MC, with a special matinee* for young audiences on September 20. As the full stage production of Into the Woods is generally recommended for ages ten and older, the matinee on September 20 will feature only Act I, which is suitable for audiences of all ages and can be enjoyed as a complete standalone story.

Performances will be at 7 p.m. on September 18, 19 and 20. Matinee performances will take place at 2:30 p.m. on September 20 and 21.
