CHS culinary students attend Disney competition

The “Cook Around the World” competition held at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, early last month included a culinary team from Clinton High School, who brought home a second-place win overall in the Asian Entreé category.

Seventy schools from around the country and over eight hundred culinary students participated in the competition, which focused on global cuisine and culinary innovation.

Program leaders say one of the highlights of the trip was the opportunity for students to meet and be mentored by celebrity chef Duff Goldman, best known as the star of Food Network’s Ace of Cakes and Duff Takes the Cake. Goldman is a nationally recognized pastry chef, television personality and owner of Charm City Cakes.

In addition to the competition and workshops, students explored international cuisine and culture throughout the Disney parks and resorts.
