CPSD residency, Meet the Teacher events planned
The Clinton Courier
The Clinton Public School District is getting ready for its 2026-27 school year, which begins for students on July 20.
Proof of residency is required for all new and returning students before the start of school. Parents and guardians will be able to prove residency for the school year at the CPSD Residency and Registration Fair on June 23-25 and July 7-9, which will be held each day from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. in the Northside/Eastside Elementary School cafeteria at 453 Arrow Drive.
Translation assistance with the registration process will be available onsite on June 23 from 2 until 6 p.m. for families of English Language Learners.
Prior to attending the Residency and Registration Fair, parents should begin by completing the online registration portion, which can be found at www.ClintonPublicSchools.com/registration.
Parents with students already in the district will log in to the enrollment database to start their student’s form. Parents who do not have their login information can contact registration@ClintonPublicSchools.com for that information to be provided.
Parents of students new to the district should also enroll their student online first, accessing the new student enrollment database by clicking on “Registration” at the top of the CPSD website, www.ClintonPublicSchools.com, and selecting “New Student” to create an enrollment account to begin the registration process.
During the new student enrollment process, parents will create the new record of a student and will be required to input necessary student information, as well as upload parental photo identification. Submission of the form will not be accepted until all required documentation is provided. When the new student enrollment database process is complete, counselors from Clinton Junior High School, Sumner Hill Junior High School or Clinton High School will contact the parent or guardian of the new student to schedule an appointment to complete the enrollment process.
Once the online registration is complete, parents and guardians must bring an official photo ID, along with a physical copy of their lease, deed, mortgage statement or homestead exemption documentation in the parent’s or guardian’s name to the Northside/Eastside cafeteria from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. on one of the six days offered, June 23-25 or July 7-9.
All parent/guardian photo IDs must show the physical address of where both the parent and student reside. The address on the photo ID must match the address on all proof of residency documents. No expectations will be made.
Parents and guardians must also bring a physical copy of a current water bill, power bill or gas bill in the parent’s or guardian’s name dated within 45 days of proving residency. Mobile service and internet bills are not considered acceptable utilities.
Parents and guardians needing to prove residency by affidavit will also be able to do so on site at the Residency and Registration Fair. To prove residency by affidavit, both the student’s parent or guardian must be present, as well as the permanent homeowner, all with appropriate identification and documentation.
Parents of students who have not proven residency by July 9, 2026, will not receive their student’s schedule during the July 16 Meet the Teacher Day and must report, accompanied by their student, to the Clinton Public School District’s Central Office building at 203 Easthaven Drive on Monday, July 20, beginning at 8 a.m. through 11 a.m. to prove residency and ensure the enrollment process is complete.
Also at the Residency and Registration Fair, parents and guardians will be able to pay the $50 instructional fee for the 2025-26 school year. The instructional fee can also be paid during Meet the Teacher Day on July 16.
Fees paid during the Residency and Registration Fair will only be accepted through the MySchoolBucks app. Parents and guardians wishing to pay by check or cash will be able to do so during Meet the Teacher Day on July 16.
Parents of returning students who do not pay the instructional fee during the Residency and Registration Fair will receive an invoice via MySchoolBucks by mid-July.
All students entering sixth grade and all students who are new to the district will receive their iPad for the 2026-27 school year during the first week of school. During the Residency and Registration Fair, Apple Macbooks will be distributed only to any incoming freshmen who did not receive a device at the end of the previous school year. All freshmen must return their old devices with Apple chargers in order to receive new devices. Appropriate fees will be assessed for any lost items or device damage. Students currently enrolled in summer courses will keep their current device until they have completed their summer course.
Once the online enrollment process has been completed and parents have proven residency, no other action will be necessary until Meet the Teacher Day, which is scheduled for Thursday, July 16.
During Meet the Teacher Day, all PreK through twelfth-grade students will have the opportunity to meet their new teachers and to receive their schedules at their designated campus.
Students whose parent or guardian has not completed the online enrollment process or who has not proven residency will not be able to receive their schedule on Meet the Teacher Day.
Additionally, the State of Mississippi requires all students entering the seventh grade to provide proof of an updated TDAP (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) booster. A recent TDAP booster is defined as being administered after the age of seven.
Students may not be enrolled without submission of the required 121 Vaccination Form.
Parents and guardians can present a physical copy of the updated 121 Vaccination Form when proving residency on June 23-25 or July 7-9, or they can turn in their physical copy to Clinton Junior High School officials during Meet the Teacher Day on July 16.
Clinton Park Elementary School, Northside Elementary School and Eastside Elementary School, which are the pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade facilities, will start the school year with a staggered start on July 20 and July 21, to help ease the transition of the start of school and allow students to get acclimated to their new classrooms and teachers.
For pre-K through fifth grade ONLY, students with last names starting with A-K will attend on Monday, July 20. Students with last names starting with the letters L-Z will attend on Tuesday, July 21. All students in pre-K through fifth grades will attend on Wednesday, July 22. Students in grades six through twelve will not have a staggered start and will begin classes on Monday, July 20.
