Pursuant to a temporary appointment by Judge Winston Kidd, Brad McCullouch, who had been serving as the First Assistant District Attorney, has been appointed to serve as Attorney Pro Tempore for the Hinds County District Attorney’s Office. The appointment is intended to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the office until the Governor makes an appointment in accordance with Mississippi law.
As Attorney Pro Tempore, McCullouch will carry out the duties of the District Attorney to ensure the continued administration of justice throughout Hinds County.
“My immediate priority is simple: to ensure the work of this office continues without interruption,” McCullouch said. “We will continue moving cases forward, supporting victims, working with our law enforcement partners, and cooperating with the Federal Receiver to address ongoing challenges at the Hinds County Detention Center.”
“I am deeply humbled by the trust placed in me during this transition,” McCullouch added. “I thank God for His grace and guidance during this temporary period, and I remain committed to serving the people of Hinds County with integrity, fairness, and professionalism.”
