Junior Auxiliary holds annual JumpStart program

Each year, Junior Auxiliary of Clinton provides a free weeklong “jumpstart” for Clinton area children who are entering kindergarten at Clinton Park Elementary School. Students come to Clinton Park for a week in June to spend the morning in different activities similar to the ones in which they will be taking part during kindergarten.

With the help of Crown Club of Clinton members, leaders teach the children how to walk in a straight line, write letters and their names, create art, learn their numbers and their colors. Organizers and school officials say the program provides an opportunity for the newest Arrows to have a chance to experience the K5 world before it starts.
