Genealogical and Historical Society program to feature Cedar’s restoration

The Clinton Genealogical and Historical Society will host Clinton Alderman Chip Wilbanks at its Tuesday, September 8, meeting. Wilbanks will present a program on the Cedars, the historic house on College Street that he and his wife, Alicia, recently restored.

Built in the 1830s, the Cedars is the oldest house in Hinds County and one of only two Clinton houses on the National Register of Historic Places.

The program, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 6 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church at 1475 East Northside Drive.
