Eastside Elementary Hosts Father/Son Competition

On September 15, Eastside Elementary held its sixth annual Father/Son Punt-Pass-Kick competition at Arrow Field. The fundraiser continues to get bigger each year with large crowd again for this year’s event. There were over seventy teams comprised of fathers, sons, grandfathers, cousins, brothers, and uncles. It was a great event for the guys to interact and have a little fun in a friendly competition. We are so pleased to announce that this event raised over 1,200 dollars that will go towards purchasing new playground equipment.

The competitors enter into three competitions – punt, pass, and kick. In all three areas, the competitors had 3 chances at each station to get their highest scores. Each team member received a score and then that score was averaged with the other member’s score for a total team score.

Overall Winner: Hayden Hunt and Staton Todd

Punt Winners: 1. Paxton Genola and Grant Stone  2. Jacob and Gabriel Patton 3. Jonathan and Wes Ambrose

Pass Winners:  1. Trevis Coley Jr. and Trevis Coley Sr.  2. Dakota and Patrick Dodson  3. James McCoy and Carson DeYoung

Kick Winners:  1. Murphy and Will Schoggen   2. Noah and Jake Delaughter  3. Devin, Michael, and Miles Bass

A special thank you to these companies who donated prizes for the winners and participants: Brick Street Pops, Funtime Skateland, Holmes Specialty Advertising, Meme’s Brick Street Bakery, Newk’s Eatery, Obie’s Chevron, Pure Salon, Rundlett Athletics, Sno Biz, Southern Salon, 303 Jefferson, and Trustmark Bank.
