“We won’t know where we are going until we get there.” Chandra Broomfield, director of the therapeutic recreation center at the Wood Activity Center says. The tour is a “mystery,” because the tour destination will not be revealed until passengers are traveling in a 56-passenger van to the secret location. During the tour, group members will focus on two of the city’s biggest treasures. The mystery day tour will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 20. Departure will be at 7 a.m.
The mystery tour is coordinated by Trek Travels. “We try to have at least five trips a year,” Broomfield says. The trip cost $99. The tour is not reserved for senior citizens only, but adults of all ages. There are no additional charges for participants lunch and rest stops once the entry fee is paid. Payments should be mailed by the first week in February.
Broomfield says, “We’ve gone on trips for the past nine years. Every trip we’ve taken has been great.” The day tour last from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. For mailing information, call the activities department at 601-924-6082.
