Food Review: Froghead Grill’s New Swamp Nachos
Customers who order Froghead Grill’s new Swamp Nachos will be taken on a journey down the bayou. There is nothing froggy or swampy about Froghead’s featured nachos. After taking one bite of the crispy, dark green tortilla chips my senses were attacked by the Cajun and creole spicy flavors. The ingredients include: smoked alligator sausage, bacon, sausage-infused queso, shredded cheeses, jalapenos, pico de gallo, and red onion.
If you are afraid of spicy foods you may want to order the swamp nachos without jalapenos. My tongue did not cool down until I scooped up a healthy serving of the creamy, perfectly melted sausage-infused queso and shredded cheeses. The tomatoes inside the pico de gallo were refreshing, and also helped with the cooling process. While the alligator sausage was chopped into delicious juicy, spicy bites of protein heaven.
The alligator sausage reminded me a lot of pork sausage, which boosted my confidence to continue eating the southern delicacy. With Irish inspirations, Froghead Grill serves green tortilla chips with their regular sausage queso dip, but this month the tortilla chips make perfect sense for the Irish holiday, St. Patricks Day. The bacon was a unique and salty addition I was not sad about. The red onion was finely chopped and barely noticeable making it easy to enjoy the meaty, cheesy appetizing, appetizer.
On a scale from 1 to 10, I highly recommend customers order Froghead Grill’s savory appetizer “swamp nachos,” before it is gone.
