Clinton Chamber of Commerce has LOTS of events!
This April the Clinton Chamber of Commerce has many exciting upcoming events to share with the bustling community and its businesses.
Starting off, volunteers and groups who care about Clinton’s environment should mark their calendars for the 2018 Clinton Chamber Clean-up Day on Saturday, April 21. To help with the city’s efforts to reduce litter around town, the Clinton Chamber is hosting this event as a morning of beautifying the entrances/exits off the Interstate to our wonderful city and along the grass shoulders of Hampstead Boulevard. The Clean-up Day, taking place from 8:00-11:00am, will offer citizens young and old the opportunity to give back to their community and take pride in what visitors see entering our town. For more information, or to register as a volunteer, visit the event site at www.2018chambercleanupday.eventbrite.com.
Next, the Clinton Chamber will be showing its appreciation for our outstanding educators and students through an Education Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday, April 26, at Mississippi College’s Anderson Hall. This annual event honors our city’s Teachers of the Year, while also recognizing the accomplishments of Clinton’s STAR students and their chosen teachers they wish to credit. Additionally, the Chamber will distinguish the senior scholarship recipients for our Clinton Chamber Youth Leadership (CCYL) program at this event. The luncheon, beginning at 11:45am, is sure to be a truly enjoyable tribute to Clinton’s citizens who contribute to our highly esteemed reputation for remarkable educational opportunities.
Following on the heels of the luncheon, the Clinton Chamber, along with Main Street Clinton, will be providing foodies, newbies, and the “just plain curious” alike a grand treat in the form of a new event: Taste the Town on Friday, April 27. For $15.00, ticket holders will have the chance to try samplings of various food and drink offerings from area restaurants on the historic streets of Old Towne Clinton from 6:30-8:30pm. Attendees will also be delighted by musical entertainment and, for those over 21, have the option to purchase adult beverages to pair with their tastings. For more information, or to reserve tickets, please check out the event site at www.mainstreetclintonms.com/taste.
Finally, the Clinton Chamber has just wrapped up another successful year of the CCYL program! The program, which is an engaging and progressive youth leadership group, aims to enrich and challenge area high school juniors and seniors to “take charge” of their lives and give back to their community. Although the annual program officially begins in September, now is the time for rising juniors and seniors to apply to participate in next year’s group. Applications for CCYL are in the school counselors’ offices and due by June 1, 2018. To find out more or to apply, please contact Emily Pace Hunt at pr@clintonchamber.org or by phone at (601) 924-5912.
The Clinton Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to be sharing all of these inspiring events for our community with you. For continued updates on these and other happenings around town, remember to bookmark the Chamber’s site at www.clintonchamber.org. We look forward to seeing you at an event!
