CLINTON— Four schools in the Clinton Public School District will hold summer school from June 4 – July 13, with July 4 as a school holiday.
Clinton High School, Sumner Hill Junior High, Clinton Junior High, and Lovett Elementary all received approval from the school board to conduct summer sessions. All of the classes will be held at CHS.
CHS will offer all courses for credit recovery to students in grades 10-12. Driver’s education and health will be offered to first time students only.
- Tuition for full-credit courses: $300 for students in the district
$350 for students outside of district
- Tuition for half-credit courses: $150 for students in the district
$175 for students outside of district
- Tuition for the health course: $100 (in-district only)
SHJHS will offer remediation courses at the same rate as CHS. Clinton Junior High courses will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily at CHS. Students who failed one or two courses at CJHS can enroll in summer school at a cost of $150 per class, with a maximum of two classes.
Lovett will offer summer school for sixth-grade students. Tuition is $150 per course with a maximum of two courses, and all courses will be offered in computer labs through an online program.
“Students who successfully complete online course requirements will be considered for promotion to the next grade,” said Lovett Principal Mike Pope.
