Hinds Community College freshman track star, Khance Meyers, has been selected to represent Team USA in the 200 meter dash at the 2018 IAAF U20 World Championships. This event will be held in Tampere, Finland from July 15-20, 2018.
Meyers has burst onto the scene this season winning the NJCAA Outdoor National Championship in the 200 meters with a record setting time of 20.02. Prior to the outdoor season, Meyers won the Indoor National Championship and set a national record in the 200 meters with a time of 20.65.
Meyers qualified for his spot at the U20 World Championships by placing 2nd in the Men’s 200m Dash Final with a time of 20.62 at the 2018 USATF Junior Championships.
“I am excited for Khance to get the opportunity to display his talents to the World. This will be a great experience for him getting to represent Team USA and travel to Finland to compete against the best the world has to offer,” said Hinds head track and field coach, Reginald Dillon.
