Playoff Push Begins Saturday at Home for Brilla

With only three games remaining in the Premier Development League season, Mississippi Brilla FC still has its focus on the 2018 postseason. However, earning a spot in the playoffs will not be an easy task over the last week of the season.

The push for the playoffs will begin at home on Saturday, July 7 at 7:00 pm at Clinton High School Arrow Stadium. Brilla will host arguably the top team in the PDL when South Georgia Tormenta brings its 9-0-1 record (28 points) to Clinton, MS. Brilla will hope to improve on a 6-2-3 record (21 points) and move closer to a playoff spot.

“You can’t really ask for more,” said Executive Director Rusty Bryant. “We are hosting the top team in the entire league with a potential playoff spot on the line. This game will be a treat for the Mississippi soccer community.”

As members of the Southern Conference, each of the three divisions within the conference will send its regular season champion to the playoffs that are scheduled to begin the weekend of July 21. The fourth conference representative will come from the overall best second place team from the 3 divisions. With South Georgia Tormenta close to locking up the top seed from the Deep South Division, Mississippi Brilla is looking to close out the season with 3 wins at home in hopes of grabbing the coveted wild card spot in the playoffs.

Tickets to Saturday’s match are $5 at the gate. The match will feature inflatable bounce houses for the kids, concessions, and an annual hot dog eating contest at halftime.
