Joni and Friends Mississippi Spring Luncheon held at Belhaven University

Joni and Friends Mississippi will host their second Spring Luncheon from 12-1 p.m. on Thursday, April 25 at the Billy Kim International Center at Belhaven University.

In Oct. 2017 the Mississippi office transitioned from a volunteer office to a full-time office, capable of reaching more families and people affected by a disability. Martie Kwasny, the area director for Joni and Friends Mississippi, has served the surrounding region since 2009.

Kwasny said the luncheon will give attendees a better understanding on how they can show the love of Christ to an often-unreached community.

“It is important to learn more about being the hands and feet of Jesus, and this luncheon is a great opportunity to reflect the heart of Christ to those in your community,” Kwasny said.

The area ministry has hosted a variety of events over the past 10 years including Barnyard Dances, Christmas Deliveries, Luke 14 Dinners and Family Retreats. Joni and Friends Mississippi is one of 20 area offices around the country. Kwasny explained the importance of serving all of God’s children.

“God calls us to enter into the suffering of others,” Kwasny said.

Joni and Friends Mississippi is inviting those in the community to eat lunch, come and hear what the Lord is doing through the area ministry. To RSVP for the event please contact mississippi@joniandfriends.org or call: 769-243-8976.

Joni and Friends is an international non-profit disability ministry founded by Joni Eareckson Tada in 1979. Joni and Friends mission is to communicate the Gospel and equip Christ-honoring Churches worldwide to evangelize and disciple people affected by disabilities. As an organization, Joni and Friends is answering the call in the Gospel of Luke 14, “invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind and you will be blessed…make them come in so my house will be full.”
