UTICA – Stephane Ayangma
and Dontrell McQuarter
were recognized by the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) for their exceptional play on the court for the Hinds Bulldogs this season.
Ayangma was named MACJC First Team All-State South. Ayangma was prolific on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. He averaged 15.1 points per game and made 132 shots out of 209 attempts from the field. His 63.2 field goal percentage ranked 25th in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Ayangma was also 14 of 32 (43.8%) from beyond the arc and made 69 of his 98 (70.4%) free throws. Ayangma also hauled in 211 rebounds. His 9.2 rebounds per game average ranked 31st in the NJCAA. Additionally, Ayangma had 17 steals to go along with 38 blocks on defense.
Ayangma finished the season with 11 double-doubles and scored double digit points in 20 of his 23 games played for Hinds.
Ayangma will continue his career at Central Connecticut State University which competes at the NCAA Division I level in the Northeast Conference.
McQuarter was named MACJC Second Team All-State South. He finished his outstanding freshman campaign averaging 15 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game. In 23 games played for the Hinds Bulldogs, McQuarter scored double-digit points 18 times and collected four double-doubles. He also shot 53.4% from the field and 37.5% from beyond the three-point line. McQuarter saw success in all facets of his game as he collected 50 assists, 22 steals and 18 blocks.
McQuarter will return to Hinds next season for his sophomore campaign and look to help lead the Bulldogs to post-season play.
