Motorists in Clinton should be aware of railroad crossing closures planned by Kansas City Southern from May 8 – 12. Construction crews for KCS will be working to replace the crossings and replacing cross ties throughout the length of track as the rail line traverses the City of Clinton.
Daily construction work will begin as early as 6:30 a.m. and last throughout the day. Work is scheduled to proceed, rain or shine.
The following rail crossings will be closed on the scheduled dates:
Thursday, May 9, 2019: Monroe Street rail crossing (until noon);
Friday, May 10, 2019: Oakwood Drive rail crossing;
Lakeview Drive rail crossing;
Private drive (just west of Lindale).
Saturday, May 11, 2019: Lindale Drive rail crossing;
Private drive just east of Parker Drive;
Wickstead Drive rail crossing.
Sunday, May 12, 2019: Parker Drive rail crossing.
City officials apologize for the inconvenience to motorists and late notice, but official notification of the repair schedule by KCS was provided to the City of Clinton today.
