Wednesday evening (January 22, 2020), at the Mississippi Fire Chiefs/Firefighters Conference Clinton firefighters, Captain James Barlow and Firefighter Chase Chappell were honored with receiving the Medal of Valor. Capt. Barlow and FF Chappell were commended for their particular rescue effort from a house fire on February 5, 2019, when they saved the life of the homeowner. During this rescue, FF Chappell was injured with burns to his back that he has since fully recovered. Although these 2 were honored, several other firefighters assisted and played a key role in the rescue effort.
