New Lion’s Club Park Grand Opening Announced

The City of Clinton announces the long awaited grand opening of the new Lion’s Club Park in Olde Towne Clinton on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 10:00 A.M.

The new Lion’s Club Park will be state of the art, ADA compliant and visually impaired friendly. The new Lion’s Club is located directly across East Leake Street from the former park location that fostered many childhood memories.

City officials believe that the enhanced park will provide generations of Clintontonians the opportunity to make more memories and continue the rich history of a great community park in the heart of Olde Towne.

Nestled in the heart of Olde Towne Clinton at 251 East Leake Street, the new park was designed by Clinton resident Jared Acy of WAS (Watkins, Acy, Strunk) Designs and constructed by Ormon Construction of Clinton. The new park includes an ability inclusive playground, picnic pavilion, walking trail, amphitheater and, restrooms. On street parking will also be available for visitors to the park.

Strict social distancing rules will be in effect during the Grand Opening and on the playground once the park opens.

    Is the grand opening May 22 or May 27? I saw both dates in print.

      It is now the 27th. We hope. Originally it was the 1st Saturday in December. Lets hope this new new new date holds!
