Approximately eighty-five meals are delivered per day to homebound senior adult residents of Clinton, even during this COVID-19 pandemic. Many of these residents live alone and are unable to cook for themselves, and some are even bed-bound.
For some, the hot lunch meal is the most nutritious meal they will eat that day. The Clinton Community Christian Corporation (4C’s) is responsible for making sure these senior citizens receive these meals.
“Some days are more challenging than others,” said 4C’s Director Dr. Laurie Lawson, “because we do not have enough volunteers to deliver the meals. If you have approximately an hour and a half to give of your time, one day out of the week or even once a month, we need you!”
The meals on wheels routes are already mapped out, so that volunteers can easily travel from one residence to the other.
Anyone interested in helping with this much-needed community service is asked to contact the 4C’s office at 601-924-9436.
