BREAKING: 7th – 12 Grade Start of School Information Update

GOVERNOR REEVES’ EXECUTIVE ORDER PROHIBITS GRADES 7-12 FROM VIRTUAL START ON AUGUST 13

CJHS Due to Governor Reeves’ Executive Order prohibiting the start of the academic year for grades 7-12 in Hinds County, Clinton’s secondary students will begin virtual classes on Monday, August 17.

The first two Wednesdays, August 19 and 26, originally scheduled as professional development days will now be classified as instructional days for students, requiring no additional days to be added to the end of the academic calendar.

The first day of school for elementary students on Team Clinton is still scheduled for August 13.

The first day of school for elementary students on Team Arrows is still scheduled for August 14.

Below is a list of items for students to make sure they’ve completed prior to the start of school on August 17

1. Students will be able to access their schedules on PowerSchool on Monday, August 10.

2. Students are encouraged to ensure they know their login information for Canvas prior to August 17.

3. Students should make sure their Zoom App is up to date on their device. The Zoom App Update is available through Self Service.

4. Students are encouraged to read the welcome letter from their principal addressing what the start of school will look like.
