Clinton Public School District COVID-19 Update—December 1, 2020

CPSD Face mask** CORRECTION: In November 30’s release it was stated a faculty member at Sumner Hill had tested positive. That positive case had already been reported to MSDH and the community, bringing yesterday’s total to 17 instead of 18 and district total to 64 instead of 65.**

The Clinton Public School District is reporting two students have tested positive for COVID-19. One student at Clinton Junior High School and one student at Sumner Hill Junior High School make up the two reported positive cases. School administrators have completed contact tracing and have contacted the parents of students in the classes who have been affected. This brings CPSD’s total positive cases to 66 since the start of school on August 13. CPSD will report all positive cases to the Mississippi State Department of Health and the Mississippi Department of Education on a weekly basis as required. Neither MSDH nor MDE require schools to report this information to the general public.

The district is committed to remaining transparent as we venture through the school year during the pandemic. The Clinton Public School District continues to follow health and safety guidelines provided by the Centers of Disease Control and MSDH. For more information, visit www.clintonpublicschools.com.
