CLINTON, Miss. — With the Mississippi College men’s and women’s basketball seasons starting in just 12 days, the athletic department has announced the COVID-19 protocols that will be in effect for the 2020-21 season.
“Our staff has worked extremely hard to put together a plan for the 2020-21 season,” said athletic director and head men’s basketball coach Mike Jones. “We have tailored our plan with the guidelines provided by the NCAA, Mississippi College, local and state governments. Our top priority is the health and well-being of our student-athletes and coaches. I feel really good about where we are today.”
The home schedule is slated to begin on Friday, December 11th when the women’s basketball team will host UAH at 6:30 p.m. in A.E. Wood Coliseum. The men’s basketball home schedule opens on Friday, December 18th when they host rival Delta State at 6:30 p.m.
The Gulf South Conference has implemented a mirrored, series schedule for the 2020-21 season where the men’s and women’s games will be played against the same schools in separate locations on a weekend. For MC, the home games will all be played at 6:30 p.m. on Friday nights with a 2:30 p.m. start on Saturday afternoon
