Nils Crowe earns highest Scouts rank

Nils Crowe

Special to The Clinton Courier

Nils Crowe from Troop 1475, sponsored by Northside Baptist Church of Clinton, earned the highest Scouts BSA rank, Eagle Scout rank, after completing his Eagle Scout project at Lifting Lives Ministries Family Homeless Shelter in Vicksburg. Crowe was able to create a special area where children in the shelter could have tutoring, create art projects, play board games, use technology (iPads) to help with school and enjoy video games.

The area also includes a family TV section for family movie nights. Crowe worked with local families and businesses to get items donated to be used in the room, designed to help the children find a sense of “ownership” by having an area to call their own during this transition. The bins and bookshelves are filled with art supplies, board games, school supplies, books, and many more items to help them find success in whatever they enjoy doing.
