7 Dog-Friendly Parks in Mississippi Your Canine Will Love

We already know you love Mississippi, or you wouldn’t be reading this!

But your best friend also deserves to appreciate what the Magnolia State has to offer. So today, let’s look at the best puppy parks around the state where you can take Fido for a fun time!

Don’t forget, if you intend on traveling outside dog-sanctioned areas and you are eligible, register your dog as an emotional support animal so you can have official paperwork at the ready for any unexpected situation.

1. Clinton Bark Park

OK, maybe we are a little biased on this one — but not without good reason! Located right next to the kid’s Towne Park, this is the perfect spot to take the whole family. Clinton is a family-friendly city, and that includes your pups!

There are separate areas for big and small dogs, plus 2 acres to run around leash-free! The fun play structures and water fountains keep the pups cool even after hours of play. Stop on by!

2. Seabee Dog Park

Located in Gulfport just off the Gulf of Mexico, this scenic park offers off-leash hours for a small fee. The fee is waived for active and retired members of the United States Military.

Play fetch at Seabee, then walk just two blocks down to the water!

3. Bonita Lakes Park

Further north, in Meridian, you will find a nature lover’s paradise adjacent to the big city.

The park boasts free admission and miles of beautiful hiking trails through the woods. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times, but the views cannot be beaten. Take a dip in the lakes with your pup and cool off together after a full day of activities.

4. Pampered Paws Park

This combination spa and park offers everything a dog could ask for. For an annual fee, your dog can have access to this Oxford park during all operating hours. Pampered Paws is always off-leash, so there are no restrictions on having a good time.

This is an all-purpose location, get a new haircut, visit the vet, update vaccinations, then play outside, all in one convenient location.

Plus, if you need to go out of town, they offer a top-notch boarding program. Think of it as a summer camp for dogs!

5. Brees Park

This park in the Jackson area offers almost 2 acres of off-leash fun for a $30 annual fee.

Your money goes a long way here. There are fun hiking paths, splash zones, wooded areas to explore, and shaded benches for humans to take a rest.

If that’s not enough reason to rush to Brees Park, a portion of all the proceeds go to a local animal shelter, so you’re not just giving your dog a good time, you are helping the community.

6. Ocean Springs Beach

Right on the beach in Ocean Springs, this park welcomes all dogs to play in the sand and chase the waves. It is privately owned, but dogs are permitted as long as their owners are vigilant about cleaning up.

This clean and little-known park is a prime location to take the whole family for a relaxing beach day.

7. River Dog’s Park

This Pascalouga park is built for dogs. With fun ramps and caves scattered about, your dog will love exploring every nook and cranny they can fit in. It is even designed with fake fire hydrants to investigate!

This park encourages off-leash time and is free all year round. Check out River Dog’s, and you’ll be coming back before you know it!

Get Outside!

You and your best friend deserve to have fun all around the state, and there’s plenty to explore outside your own town.

Summer is right around the corner — so take the time to explore our beautiful state with your dog in tow!
