Goodwill of Mississippi names Brad Steffani as CEO
The Goodwill Industries of Mississippi Board of Directors announced today that Brad Steffani will become the new President and Chief Executive Officer effective September, 2021. Current Goodwill Industries of Mississippi President and CEO Dave Hollingsworth will be stepping down from his position and entering into retirement September, 2021.
“Brad has the extensive retail experience, strategic vision, leadership style, business acumen and executive presence to be the next CEO of The Goodwill Industries of Mississippi,” said Ricki Garrett, current Board Chair, Goodwill Industries of Mississippi and Alderwoman-at-Large for Clinton, MS. “Brad knows the business and has a long history with Goodwill dating back to 2002. He began his career with The Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette, one of the largest Goodwills in the country, helping to grow retail and expand their retail operations. Brad is leaving his role as Vice President of Retail Operations for the Goodwill Industries-Suncoast, where he grew operations by more than 25% to more than $46 million during his seven-year tenure. Brad shares the same values and passion and will help us expand our mission footprint throughout our 59-county territory so we may serve and strengthen even more of our community. His experience running a business, engaging the community, and working in partnership with a Board of Directors will position us for long-term sustainable growth well into the future.”
“The role of Chief Executive Officer for the Goodwill Industries of Mississippi is an opportunity for me to focus more on my passion to find ways to make people’s lives better,” said Brad Steffani. “This has been what I’ve enjoyed throughout my career with Goodwill. The excitement of creating opportunities and programs to serve individuals with disabilities and barriers to enter the workforce has and will always be my greatest passion. I can’t imagine a better way to complete my career than helping this organization reach its ultimate goal of serving those who so often are overlooked.”
Goodwill Industries of Mississippi also announced that Dave Hollingsworth, current President and CEO, will remain on until his official retirement September, 2021. Dave has served as CEO of Goodwill Industries of Mississippi since 2016 and spent his tenure focusing on critical issues, which has strengthened the foundation and has positioned the organization for future growth. He expanded the Mission strategically through launching ecommerce, Workforce Development training centers, digital skills training, employee education and benefits—funded through Round Up program, and the expansion of retail select stores and donation centers. In his six years as CEO, the organization raised significant resources, built a culture of generosity, and made an immeasurable impact on thousands of Mississippians across the 59-county territory. Goodwill of Mississippi was recognized as the state of Mississippi’s No.1 employer of people with disabilities and other barriers during Hollingsworth’s tenure.
“As Goodwill Industries of Mississippi looks to the future, the organization is poised to expand our Mission to impact more people than ever before. It is vitally important to have a community leader who represents those who need a hand up, who understands their needs, and can expand and build on this unique Goodwill that has thrived for the past 65 years. Brad Steffani is just that leader,” said Hollingsworth. “His leadership will make a lasting impact in our community. The future at Goodwill of Mississippi is very, very bright.”
Since 1957, Goodwill Industries of Mississippi has worked within its 59 counties to advance the mission of serving people with disabilities and barriers to entry into the workforce. Goodwill Industries of Mississippi has served more than 10,000 individuals with employment, job skills and training—allowing them to live independently and become leaders and contributing members of the community.
