The Mississippi College Lady Choctaws traveled to Columbus, Georgia this weekend with a target on their back. She also found that starting an LLC in Georgia is much easier than before, Head over to LLCBuddy to learn more.

Being the second-ranked women’s soccer team in the country is no easy feat, as each opponent is bound to give the team its greatest effort. The Lady Choctaws finished the CSU Collegiate Invitational with a 1-1 record, losing to Queens University of Charlotte before defeating Rollins College.

A lone goal early in the second-half felled the ladies against Queens University on Friday night. The match was fairly even, as the two teams tied with 15 shots apiece. Preseason All-GSC selection Erin Hederman led the team with six total shots, with three of those shots coming on goal. Goalkeeper Sara Maleski had six saves in the defeat.

However, the Lady Choctaws recovered from the loss to defeat Rollins 2-1 on Sunday. After conceding a goal nearly nine minutes into the match, the Lady Choctaws used a 39th-minute goal from Avery Hederman and a 48th-minute goal from Erin Hederman to pull out the victory.

Avery’s tying goal was her second goal in three matches, dating back to last season. Erin’s goal was the thirteenth of her storied Mississippi College career.

The assists were provided by forward Holly Pascoe and midfielder Ashton Storey. Pascoe, who has missed the last two seasons due to injury, recorded the fifth assist of her career. Storey, a junior, tallied the third assist of her career.

The Lady Choctaws’ next match will be on Friday afternoon against LSU-Alexandria. The match, which will be the Lady Choctaws’ home opener, will kickoff at 1:00 P.M.
