Arrows finish strongly at home cross country meet

The Clinton High School cross country teams hosted the Clinton Arrow XC Invitational on Saturday. Both teams had a quality meet, racking up multiple top-ten finishes between them. The Arrows finished in fourth in the boys’ Black Division, while the Lady Arrows tallied a third-place finish in the girls’ Black Division.
Boys
Junior Christian Parks was the fastest Arrow in the field of 114 runners. He finished second overall with a time of 16:48.90.
J.T. Price narrowly finished outside of the top-ten. The junior finished in 11th place with a time of 17:28.40.
Rounding out the Arrows’ fastest quintet was sophomore Carter Gibbs, senior Dallas Crosby, and sophomore Logan Bryant. Gibbs finished in 17th and was followed by Crosby in 26th place. Bryant finished a few seconds later in 28th place.
Girls
The Lady Arrows tallied a third-place finish behind Jackson Prep and second-placed Pearl High School. They finished ahead of fellow Class 6A teams Brandon, Germantown, and Madison Central.
The girls were paced by junior Evelyn Mata-O’Dwyer, who finished fourth overall with a time of 20:38.20. Sabine Cook was the second-fastest Lady Arrow, as she racked up a 10th place finish with a time of 21:24.40.
The Lady Arrows’ top-five was rounded out by a trio of freshmen. Mati Claire Miley (15th place), Anna Renegar (18th place), and Kaedyn Wilson (19th place) each tallied top-20 finishes.
Next Race
The Clinton High School cross country teams will be back in action on October 9th at the Jaguar Trails Classic in Madison.
