Amanda Mills Jones has been hired as the Director of Communication and Tourism for the City of Clinton. During the October 5, 2021 meeting of Mayor Fisher and the Board of Aldermen, she was unanimously approved in an 8-0 vote.
Amanda comes to the City of Clinton from St. Dominic Hospital where she served as a Senior Marketing and Communication Specialist since 2017. Prior to her service at St. Dominic’s, Jones served in Outreach and Marketing for the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks for over 12 years. She started co-hosting Mississippi Outdoors television in 2006 with the late Melvin Tingle. Her passion for the outdoors and love for Mississippi is strong as she continues to serve as a co-host on the show’s 33rd season.
As a 2001 graduate of Clinton High School, she is very familiar with Clinton. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Communications from Mississippi College in 2005. Amanda proudly serves as the current PTO President for Clinton Park Elementary. She is a member of The Central Chapter of the Public Relations Association of Mississippi. In 2019, she received her Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
Amanda is married to Dustin Jones, of Greenwood, MS. They have two daughters, Addie (6) and Anna Lois (4). Both girls are active in city sports and recreations. The Jones family attends First Baptist Church Clinton.
“I am excited to serve the city I love. Clinton is unique and has so much to offer residents and surrounding communities. I am ready to assist in the growth and development of our great city,” said Jones. Jones is slated to start the position on November 8, 2021.
