Lady Choctaws open the hoops season with a 1-1 start

TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The Mississippi College women’s basketball team opened their season with back-to-back games against LeMoyne-Owen and Tuskegee. They topped LeMoyne-Owen 46-41 before falling to Tuskegee 63-45.

In the LeMoyne-Owen victory, freshman forward Amelia Bell led the way with 12 points and nine rebounds. Kyiah Julian, a guard, added 10 points. Ally Alford came off the bench to add eight points, including two three-pointers. To read MC Athletics’ full recap of the LeMoyne-Owen game, click HERE.

The Lady Choctaws held a four-point lead at the end of the first quarter over Tuskegee, a team that was receiving votes in the WBCA Preseason National Poll. Alford led the way with 11 points.
