Postseason events highlight weekend of MC Athletics

There was a loaded weekend of action for six of Mississippi College’s sports teams. The basketball teams, cross country teams, women’s soccer team, and volleyball team each featured in various postseason and regular season events.

  • The women’s volleyball team advanced all the way to the semifinals of the GSC Women’s Volleyball Championship. They defeated Auburn Montgomery and Shorter on Friday before falling to eventual champions West Florida on Saturday.

  • Both cross country teams completed historic seasons on Saturday. The women’s team finished in 24th place at the NCAA Division II National Championship race, while the men finished in 23rd. To read the full release on the MC Athletics website, click HERE.
  • Despite outshooting Florida Tech 17-11, the women’s soccer team fell in penalty kicks in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Lady Choctaws finished the season with a 12-4-2 record. To read the full release on the MC Athletics website, click HERE.
  • On Saturday, the men’s basketball team overcame a seven-point deficit with six minutes left to defeat LSU-Shreveport 71-66. Led by Judah Jordan’s 16 points, the Choctaws had four double-digit scorers. To read the full release on the MC Athletics website, click HERE.
  • On Saturday, the women’s basketball team won their second game in a row after topping Southeastern Baptist 93-37. All 15 players played and scored for the Lady Choctaws. To read the full release on the MC Athletics website, click HERE.
