Special to The Clinton Courier
Charles Melton, retired instructor of the Clinton High School Career Complex, is the new host of Mississippi Public Broadcasting Think Radio’s Auto Correct – a call-in vehicle repair program – which airs Thursdays at 10 a.m. and repeats Sundays at 11 a.m.
Melton, also known as Coach Charlie, is an ASE master mechanic who taught in the automotive technology program at CHS for twenty years. As a baseball and bowling coach, he led bowling teams to six state title wins.
Melton has hosted Auto Correct three times since the program started in September 2018. His first show as the new host was Thursday, October 14, when topics included what the infamous check engine light could mean for a vehicle, how to address faulty heated seats and details about getting certified in auto mechanics.
Allison Walker, also known as “The Lady Auto Mechanic” and the original host of Auto Correct, ended her hosting duties last month to pursue other career opportunities.
MPB’s Liz Gill is the producer and co-host of Auto Correct. To listen to past episodes, including Melton’s first show as host, visit autocorrect.mpbonline.org.
