Hamilton picks Mississippi State

Kimani HamiltonKimani Hamilton, one of the best boys’ basketball players in the state, recently made his eagerly awaited college decision. The talented Clinton High School athlete committed to play at the next level with Mississippi State University.
Hamilton was deciding between Mississippi State, Alabama and Ole Miss. The 6-foot-8 small forward narrowed his decision down to the Bulldogs and the Crimson Tide before deciding to take his talents to Starkville.
Hamilton has family ties to Mississippi State, as his father, Tang Hamilton, is a former Mississippi State men’s basketball standout.
Hamilton is 247Sports’ 25th-ranked small forward in the entire Class of 2022. 247Sports also ranks him as the second-best player in Mississippi.
He led the Arrows to the 2021 MHSAA Class 6A State Championship Game, where they defeated Starkville High School 56-51. Hamilton was named the game’s Most Valuable Player after scoring 14 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
With his college decision made, Hamilton can now focus on the remainder of his senior season with the Arrows. The team has a 2-1 record, with back-to-back wins coming recently against Ridgeland and Terry.
