The Answered Prayer Gospel Band will perform on April 29 at Milepost 89 for the monthly “Friday Nights at Milepost 89” music offering.

 

Friday Nights at Milepost 89 is held on the third Friday of each month at 6:30 p.m. on the lawn of the Clinton Visitor Center. Admission to each performance is at least eighty-nine cents.

 

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, food and non-alcoholic drinks. Guests who are exhibiting any symptoms of illness are asked to forgo the event.

 

Answered Prayer Gospel Band was established in 1997 by husband and wife Tony and Vanaee Patrick.

 

“Our goal is to share the musical talents given so graciously by our Lord and Savior,” said Vanaee. “We incorporate traditional and gospel bluegrass, while adding blues and country to our forte.”

 

They will perform songs like, “I’ll Fly Away,” “Mississippi, You’re on My Mind” and” I Am A Pilgrim.” The members are Murry Stewart, acoustic guitar and vocals; David McCoy, mandolin, harmonica and vocals; Wilson Karges, dobro; Vanaee Patrick, vocals; Curtis Carter, bass guitar; and David Bryant, banjo and vocals. Tony Patrick, founder and bass guitarist, passed away in January, 2022.
