CCA track and field concludes season at state championships

The Clinton Christian Academy track and field teams competed at the MAIS Class 4A State Championships, with the boys finishing fourth out of fourteen teams, while the girls finished eighth out of nineteen teams.

 

The Warriors had two individual boys state champions and four more podium finishes at the meet. Rob Perry won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.94 seconds, topping the runner-up by over a second. He also finished in second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.12 seconds.

 

Joe Thomas won the high jump by four inches with a mark of six feet, six inches. On top of that, he made the podium in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 44.32 seconds.

 

Baker Purvis was the runner-up in the 800 meters with a time of 2:13.20. Connor Purvis also made the podium with a third-place finish in the 400 meters (51.91 seconds).

 

On the girls’ side, the Warriors racked up one individual state champion and two other podium finishes. Audrey Bryson won the shot put with a mark of 35 feet, 1.50 inches.

 

Anne Marie Crechale racked up runners-up finishes in the 1600 meters (6:01.80) and the 3200 meters (13:01.00).
