The Friday, August 19, music offering at Milepost 89 will feature Leo Moreira and Carlos Calabrese, with their focus on music that highlights the acoustic guitar. The repertoire presented by the duo will bring a wide variety, including songs by Santana, The Beatles, Toto, The Eagles, and others.
Friday Nights at Milepost 89 is the third Friday of the month at 6:30 p.m. inside the Clinton Visitor Center. Admission to each performance is at least eighty-nine cents. Guests who are exhibiting any symptoms of illness are asked to forgo the event.
The musical duo met in the Summer of 2017, when Calabrese was moving from Ohio to Mississippi and looking for other musicians who had interest in many genres of music. Calabrese and Moreira jammed some music together and, in January 2018, they put together the band “The Jackson Gypsies.”
The Weekend Music Scene at the Clinton Visitor Center offers entertainment and fun year around with many genres of music. Weekend music is held on the first and fourth Sunday of the month from 2-4 p.m. The community is invited to come listen to the musicians.
