Metro YMCAs of Mississippi (Clinton Branch) and UnitedHealthcare recently debuted a new mobile food pantry that will provide healthy food resources to hard-to-reach communities in Mississippi that face barriers to access and transportation.

The ribbon cutting event kicked off the community Fall Festival featuring bounce houses, arts and crafts, pumpkin carving and other fall activities. Attendees were invited to tour the new mobile pantry, participate in healthy snack demonstrations and hear from Metro YMCAs of Mississippi and UnitedHealthcare executives. UnitedHealthcare volunteers also provided a mobile health van and distributed educational resources, health materials and giveaways to attendees.

The new mobile pantry was made possible thanks to a $150,000 UnitedHealthcare Empowering Health grant, further cementing UnitedHealthcare’s dedication to fighting food insecurity in Mississippi and across the country by addressing barriers to access in underserved communities.
