“Fall for Clinton” business decorating contest begins & market vendors being sought
Now a much-anticipated annual event, The Clinton Courier’s citywide business “Fall for Clinton” decorating contest will soon be underway. All businesses in the city are encouraged to participate by decorating their façade, lawn, entrance and/or doorways with fall themes, such as scarecrows, pumpkins and festive wreaths.
While there is no cost to enter, businesses must complete an official Decorating Contest Entry Form by October 1 in order to be considered for one of the awards. Decorating must be completed by Friday, October 13, and judging will take place on October 14-16, with the winners announced on Facebook on October 18 and featured in the November 7 issue of The Clinton Courier.
Awards will be given for the most Fabulous Façade, Lavish Lawn, Enthralling Entrance, and Dynamic Doorway.
Entry forms are available at The Clinton Courier office or on the website at www.TheClintonCourier.net, and they can be mailed to or dropped off at The Clinton Courier office at 105 East Main Street, Clinton. Call 601-990-9511 for more information.
Main Street Clinton is currently seeking applications for vendors for their October 14 Fall for Clinton market.
Vendor products from past years include jewelry, pottery, embroidery, art, cottage foods, woodwork, candles, bath and body products, and more. Sales of items that have been commercially produced, offered through pyramid franchises or that have been bought for re-sale are not allowed.
Held on the brick streets of Olde Towne Clinton, the Fall for Clinton Market will be accompanied by the annual Pet Parade. The market will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 2 p.m.
Merchandise categories for the market include hand-crafted products, such as arts, crafts, pottery, clothing and jewelry; edible products, such as baked and canned goods; and grown/raised agriculture products, such as fruits, vegetables and plants. Main Street Clinton reserves the right to restrict the number of vendors per category.
In addition to artisan vendors, the markets also include food vendors who provide food prepared primarily onsite and intended for immediate consumption. Food vendors must submit a ServSafe Certification and/or a business license, proof of up-to-date liability insurance, and photos of their product(s) and setup, along with their completed application.
Main Street Clinton invites both new and returning artists, crafters, makers and food vendors to submit an application. Guidelines and policies have been updated for this market season, so potential vendors are encouraged to review them before applying. The deadline for vendor applications for the Fall for Clinton Market is noon on Friday, October 6.
Application guidelines and online registration is available through the Main Street Clinton website at www.MainStreetClintonMS.com/market.
