Clinton plans annual Neighborhood Night Out
The Clinton Courier
Clinton’s Neighborhood Night Out (NNO) is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. It is modeled after the National Night Out event, which takes place nationwide on the first Tuesday of August.
Clinton’s NNO is designed to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement, while bringing back a true sense of community.
This year’s annual event will take place on Tuesday, October 3.
Clinton neighborhoods, subdivisions and areas are encouraged to organize block parties so that neighbors can come out and socialize with one another. It is not necessary for neighborhoods wishing to participate to be organized into official homeowners’ associations. All residents of Clinton are encouraged to organize a NNO party with just a few neighbors or an entire block.
Throughout the evening, NNO parties will be attended by City administration, police and fire department personnel to share updates and tips on building a safer and stronger neighborhood.
Participating groups are encouraged to share their plans with Clinton Police Department Lt. Mike Kelly by calling him at 601-924-5252.
